hindi na ako magssummer. gusto ko sana mag-ctws this summer kaso may klase everyday!! pano yun, eh di parang magiging regular na klase din... tapos papasok ako para lang sa isang klase every HOT day. hehe. wag na lang. mabuti pang mag-wednesday class, kaysa mawalan ng summer vacation. fyi, sa 29 na ang last day of online preenlistment para sa summer. yung mga magphi-philippine games dyan... balita ko madami kayo. enjooooy!!

balak ko sana magpreenlist na lang for first sem, next academic year. pero magtatanong-tanong muna ako ng okay na profs. saka problema both yung film 110 at film 102 na dalawa lang ang option: tuesday 8:30-11:30 at tuesday 1-4pm. di ko naman pwede pagsabayin syempre. so pagiisipan ko muna ano ang magandang i-umaga... baka ma-late ako eh. hehe.^^

kanina dapat maaga ako nakaalis ng school. eh pasaway yung prof namin sa eng1, late na nagdistribute ng long essays [ang aga ko pa naman dumaan sa fc...]. kaya maaga din ako pumunta sa darkroom lab para [what else?] magprint ng contacts. ayon, ayos naman ang kinalabasan. actually, mas maganda yung kinalabasan ng mga contact prints kaysa dun sa req'd plates. wahaaay.

after nun, natrap kami sa lab from 12-1 dahil break ng faculty... at nilock kami ni mang cv. normally dun sila nagllunch sa film department kaso kanina, defense ng mga thesis kaya walang tao. what an experience! hehe. ayon, late kami nakapaglunch [at kawawa si ate marge dahil di pa naman daw siya nakapag-breakfast... tsk tsk tsk].

naubusan kami ng maisip gawin [me & chad] dahil sa kahihintay sa classmates na di pa tapos sa plates. pero worth it naman ang loooong waiting dahil nakapag-come out kami ng magaling [at career] na idea para sa exhibit. isang higanteng colpan [kung di niyo alam, colpan ang *ehem* sikat na brand ng b&w film na ginagamit namin sa basic photography. 60 pesos lang sa sc! bili na!]. sana maging maganda ang kalalabasan... gusto sana namin sa a.s. gawin ang exhibit, pero baka mahirapan daw pumunta dun yung mga mag-jjudge... kaya sa film lobby na lang. sa tuesday kami magsset-up, sa friday ang pag dismantle. bale thursday lang ang free/rest day ko next week. waw. kala ko tapos pwede na ko magliwaliw sa bahay, may pahabol pa pala. oh well.

nareceive ko na rin finally ang letter [birthday card] mula kay penpen. march 13 ang date sa envelope pero ngayon lang umabot sa 'min. snail mail nga. special. at may cake kami ngayon [swiss chocolate. yumyum]... dahil daw birthday ko. hindi naman late no?^^

yes, tapos na ang finals na yan sa film 100. kinakabahan talaga ako kanina... kahit na nakapag-aral na naman ako and everything. pero ayus na ngayon. naging okay naman yung test.

uhm... actually, madali nga eh [except yung first part na sasabihin yung theme ng pinanood naming movie na norwegian/danish yata... ang complicated kasi ng plot dahil sa illusions na hinalo sa reality. so malabo talaga]. ang ikli nga lang ng alloted time [1 hour 15 minutes i think] at puro essay type ang tanong. kahit na adaming kong pwede sabihin for each question na sure ako, karamihan shinort-cut ko na lang. eh pano ba naman nung sinabi ni sir na 10 minutes na lang, mga kalahati pa lang nasagutan ko. seryoso, panic attack talaga. di ko pa nasagutan yung formalism ng film na citizen kane kasi di ko kagad naisip nun. kaya ini-skip ko na lang. oh well...

i'm writing penpen an e-mail. andami kong kwento at parang ngayon lang muli ako free na free [except yung times na nagbblog ako, iba yun].

Beware of Mirrors in Hotels! Because you never know!

How to determine if a mirror is 2 way or not (Not a Joke!) Not to scare you, but to make you aware. A policewoman who travels all over the US and gives seminars and techniques for businesswomen passed this on.

HOW TO DETECT A 2-WAY MIRROR :
When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel rooms, changing rooms, etc. How many of you know for sure that the seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on the wall is a real mirror, or actually a 2-way mirror( i.e., they can see you, but you can't see them)?There have been many cases of people installing 2-way mirrors in female changing rooms. It is very difficult to positively identify the surface by just looking at it. So, how do we determine with any amount of certainty what type of mirror we are looking at?

Just conduct this simple test: Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface and if there is a GAP between your fingernail and the image of the nail, then it is a GENUINE mirror. However, if your fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the image of your nail, then BEWARE, FOR IT IS A 2-WAY MIRROR! So remember , every time you see a mirror, do the "fingernail test."

It doesn't cost you anything. It is simple to do, and it might save you from getting "visually raped" ! This is a really good thing to do. The reason there is a gap on a real mirror, is because the silver is on the back of the mirror UNDER the glass. As a two-way mirror, the silver is on the surface.

last day of classes na sa 21. at simula na this week ang 'wave' ng sunod-sunod na exams. well, hindi literal na sunod-sunod as in everyday. pero you get the idea, madaming kailangan gawin. akala ko nga halos wala na dapat gagawin this week kasi pa-end na nga. eh yun pala wala ngang [official, following the normal schedule] classes, pero continue pa rin ang mga requirements... tapos nakakaasar pa dahil kailangan ko pumasok ng ibang araw for just one subject. hellooo, travel time pa lang andaming oras nang nasasayang. pero wala naman magagawa...hmm..

narealize ko yan nung nasa mainlib ako at may babaeng nagsabi ng, "grabe wala nanaman akong tulog sa dami ng gagawin...". i feel for her. ahehe.

at bakit naman ako na sa lib non? saturday afternoon physics exam namin. eh nung friday at saturday gumagawa pa lang ako ng notes... di ako motivated mag-aral nun dahil sa maraming bagay, kasama na ang dahilan na naasar ako't iniba pa nila ang instructor namin ng hindi ganun ka-understandable. kaya saturday morning nag-commute na ko papuntang school para mag-aral. sa lib nararamdaman kong obliged akong mag-aral since library nga iyon... compared sa tambayan sa as, kung saan mas masarap tumunganga't magkwentuhan kaysa magbasa. malapit pa sa beach house. mmm... amoy barbeque.^^

the lingkod aral [interaction activity] yesterday was great - not the way i expected it to be. i thought there'd only be a bit of games and the rest would be history lectures and well, totally boring. but no, there were lots of fun activites [including bulaklak btw. hehehe.] and a tinikling dance number by the filipiniana dance troupe. as sarang [the korean] said, the performance was sooo tense. all our eyes were watching their feet very closely, afraid that they get in between the bamboo poles.

oh, and tao danced. all by herself. she really has the guts.

six out of ten invitees came. there were two koreans, one chinese [actually a filipino citizen], an indonesian, a turkish and an indian. the turkish arrived late, but at least he came.

when it came to the question-and-answer portion, i remember someone asking something like, "[i don't know if this is true, but maybe to flatter them] all your countries are known for their good education. why did you choose to study in the philippines and in up?". most said of course that it's cheap to study here. the turkish answered something like, "in turkey the people don't speak english ... and in europe the cost of education is very high. you must work if you want to survive ... in europe the climate is the same. in the philippines the climate is different ... i once went to czech republic. i stayed there for three months. the climate is cold, and the people are also cold ... sometimes the climate affects the people."

so i was thinking, does that mean filipinos are hot?? hehe.^^
